Iglesia Cristiana Calvary Chapel began as a park outreach in February 2003.  Weekly, the staff and students of Peruvian extension campus of Calvary Chapel Bible College would spend Saturday afternoons evangelizing onlookers at one of Lima's largest parks, Mariscal Castilla, through music, mimes, puppets and Bible stories. 

While some in the community criticized our activities, the impact was very beneficial.  Local government representatives acknowledged that the crime rate in our neighbourhood dropped and attributed it to our outreach to the troubled teens in the area.  Soon, we gained much favor with local police, mayor and municipality leaders.

The growing crowds would return each week, and soon we felt led to begin Sunday morning services in the same park amphitheatre.  Pop-up tents were donated, and the crowd endured cold drizzly winter days as well as the sweltering summer months.

Finally driven indoors, we were given permission to meet in the basement of the local municipality building for the following year. The fellowship continued to grow and the children's ministry was requiring more and more space for the children. The Lord answered our prayer for a real church home, and led us to an excellent location in one of the main avenues in Lima, Javier Prado Oeste, in San Isidro where we had our meetings for more than 2 years.The church today continues to grow and we are having our meetings in the auditorium of “El Derrama Magisterial” in front of Residential San Felipe in Jesus Maria.
