Huanuco is 8 hours from Lima by bus in the Andes mountains. Native pastor Fernando Ruiz from CC San Isidro arrived in Huanuco in 2003 as part of the first outreach team from CCBC Peru. Fernando stayed and established Calvary Chapel Huanuco. He is currently serving there along with his wife Rocio and children Juan Jose and Maria Gracia. Fernando has begun an extension campus of CCBC as well and has regular attending students. Outreach teams to Huanuco regularly visit poor areas of the community, hospitals, orphanages, schools, plazas, and parks. Ministry tools are puppets, dramas, skits, games, songs, evangelism and films for the community. Pastor Marcos Martínez has worked in Chorrillos for three years, where he has friends and relatives. This work began by God putting it on his heart to start a work in that place. In this way, two and a half years ago we started doing outreaches in Park Fatima, in the district of Chorrillos in Lima. Then we started a Bible study with 8 young people in the house of one of them in an aea called urb. San Juan Bautista about 2 km. from the park. The Lord gave us a place where we now meet for our bible studies, the Kid’s club, and the youth group. This small church is characterized because the Lord has touched the hearts of kids and youths and also the adults. We have been part of Vacation Bible schools, Surf camps, baptisms and a women’s brunch. And we hope in the Lord that the children, youth and ladies that have opened their hearts to God will be strengthened with His love, grace and mercy.
